Making progress

So I have been able to paint a little more lately, it makes me really happy, and I hope I can get back to painting full-time again soon. Here are a few of the things I have managed in the last couple of days, I dont feel that they are close to the same quality I used to do, but I feel I am getting better quickly :) Thomas "Khaldor" Kilian (@Khaldor) (Starcraft II Commentator) Steven "Destiny" Bonell II (@Steven_Bonnell) (Starcraft II streamer/player) Random study :)

Long Due Update

So, I have contracted a nasty case of cubital tunnel in my right arm, so I haven't really been able to paint, especially not with my tablet, so that's why I haven't been posting much lately. I won't post regularly until I am confident that I can, otherwise I will try to push myself to do a study everyday :(

Anyway, here are some of the things that I've been working on. Most of it are studies for the Crimson Daggers Bloodsport Challenge, which this time around was to make a Movie Poster/DVD Cover for a western remake of a Miyazaki movie. I chose Princess Mononoke. I only spent 3 short days (so around 6 hours) so it's not as good as it could be :(

League of Legends Lunar Revel Competition

This is my entry for the League of Legends Lunar Revel competition. I've overstrained my hand working the last 3 weeks, so I'm giving my hand a rest today and tomorrow (hence the lack of studies today). I won't win anything, but it was fun to do this piece anyway, I learnt a lot :D

Random Studies from today

I should really sketch a lot more than I do, instead of only doing studies. I'll make that a point in tommorrows schedule :)

First attempt at life portraits

Trying to get away from doing photo studies and switching over to doing as many life studies as possible. Here's my first portrait ,and it's a self-portrait done via a mirror. It was a lot of fun, and not as bad as I thought it would be :)

Lizard Warrior..... thing

So this is for the Crimson Daggers Bloodsport Challenge.

In this challenge we had to create box art cover for an action figure choosing one of three made-up IP's. I Chose Legend of Lizards, and the challenge was to make this "cool".

I'm going to make another illustration for the same contest since I have the time and it's good practise and fun :)

Forgot to Post yesterday :(

So a double post today, first a Gorilla study.

and Later on, why I was doing the Lizard studies :)

Imagination Sketches

So here are some exmaples of why I do all the studies, they will obviously get better the more studies I do :)

The point of them is to exercise sketching from the imagination. So no reference at all.

Hands

Hand Studies from today :)

They are all done from Andrew Loomis "Drawing the Head and Hands". All of Andrew Loomis' books are fantastic, and I can only recommend them. I when I've done hands extensively enough, I'll probably move onto heads. I can do portraits alright, but for some reason, I just can't draw heads very well, so I'll have to work on that :)

First painting done on my iMac :D

This is Eunjung from the Korean Pop Band 'T-ara'

While I was in the UK I found some websites that are very worthwhile giving a visit, unfortunately I forgot most of them already, so I'll post them bit by bit as I remember them :)

www.wild-wonders.com - This is a photography website (you can get their apps for iOS devices, not sure about android), and the picture galleries are all absolutely breathtaking. Whether you use it for art studying, or just like to view photographs, it's definitely worth a look.

Have a great friday everyone :)
